The fashion industry has changed. What was very rule following and semi-risk adverse is now rebellious and subversive, it’s used as a positive platform to propel and influence needed changes. Our goal this month is to emphasize that.

“We need to make fashion relevant again” - Olivier Rousteing

Rousteing said this about a year ago in the New York Times, the industry has come far since then, but it still has a long way to go. Currently, the world is going through its own metamorphosis, and the new generation is creating their own paradigm that is a lot more inclusive, excepting, and embracing than in previous decades. Like people, brands are constantly reinventing themselves; a new design direction is forged through the eyes of the leader. Lately the industry is either setting the trend of the decade or creating art that references and/or makes a political statement. The sole purpose of fashion nowadays is to cause waves, start a conversation, and make a statement. Long gone are the days when political statements in the fashion industry are taboo and controversial, in fact, now not only is that expected, that’s the goal.

With Nu View, we have been forging our own path. We want readers to feel like they can connect to our content. We’re not finding information that is already out there, we’re reporting on it before it even is, we’re observing what everyone does not notice. This month’s theme is “say something,” and trust us, we have a lot to say. Want to know what topics we’re covering this month? Wait and see!

“The process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages.”

“A change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means.”

This month’s issue is for those desperately seeking change, the innovators, the restless souls who are never satisfied and enough is never enough, the people that embrace change and its inevitability as well as its unpredictability. This month’s issue is also for the reinventors, those people that are fine with not knowing who they are just yet but can’t wait to find out. This month, let’s talk about growth and evolution, let’s talk about buying from the men’s section, and the fashion from our favorite fictional characters who have us wanting to steal their style. Let’s also talk about reincarnation, what’s old is new again. Let’s discuss that vintage online market at ASOS, that sweater in your grandparents' closet that’s now being featured in all your fav. fashion mags., and Le Muse Vintage, that place in The Square that sells vintage designer clothing. To our fellow readers, the ones who during unpredictable times welcome uncertainty without fear, the ones finding themselves, those who need a change, to reinvent themselves, this message is for you…

The best way for something to become a habit is to first make it a routine. And it is only when a daily routine becomes a habit that change happens, that’s your metamorphosis.

Being bold isn’t a cry for attention, people staring at you isn’t always a bad thing, following all the latest fashion trends doesn't make you a sheep, or unoriginal, but ignoring what's trendy doesn't make you a rebel. Lastly, confidence can be fake at first because eventually, with time, it won't be. This month, let’s be loud and obnoxious, let’s be “extra” in the best way possible!

Here at Nu View, our goal is always to impress and inform our readers. This month, we will be doing that with the utmost tenacity. The articles featured this month will be about YouTube channels that strictly fashion, statement pieces, swimwear that’s making a splash, a study on Versace, and all the latest patterns and fashion fabrics. This month, boredom has created a new mindset, new concepts are funded by free time, “extra” is a state of mind, and the innovators lead fashion.

Do you remember that quote by Coco Chanel, “before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off,” well, this month, put 5 things on. If you don't think something matches, but you love it, wear it anyway, take chances.  This month started with fireworks and a celebration of freedom, let’s keep that going. With July comes the freedom to think creatively, try new things, ignore restraint, discover what you like through trial because there is no error, and next month will be your metamorphosis. “Extra” is a synonym for confidence, and this month we show you 50 shades of “extra”. Last month started and ended with a bang, but July will be A Bigger Boom!

-xoxo Don and Sofia
