I hope everyone is having a spooky Halloween season and enjoying their October month. During these crazy COVID19 times, the Halloween season can feel extra scary and apocalyptic. The state of the world is constantly changing and with the Presidential Elections coming up, October of 2020 definitely has an extra layer of eeriness. Despite this, I am still trying my hardest to enjoy the spooky season in a safe and fun way. My roommates and I have been watching Halloween movies, and just last week we watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time. We have made plans to visit a pumpkin patches and carve pumpkins, and we have been drinking hot cider almost everyday. With Halloween fast approaching, it can be hard to find a safe way to celebrate everyone’s favorite holiday. At my house, my roommates and I are dressing up, taking pictures, and then watching more Halloween movies. It is still possible to enjoy Halloween without putting yourself or others at risk. I encourage everyone to seek out ways to safely celebrate this weekend. Get creative! Have a Zoom party, hold a costume contest, make Halloween themed foods and drinks. There are many ways to enjoy this weekend safely, and I look forward to seeing how everyone decides to celebrate in a safe and fun way.
